As you may or may not know, I’m over 10 months HUGE.

I mean pregnant. (Why do they always refer to gestation time as 9 months? I don’t get that.)

Regardless, I feel pretty great. But as I sit here daydreaming about meeting my little guy and praying for contractions to kick in, I can’t help but think of a quote by Kahlil Gibran from the classic book The Prophet – and how it relates not only to the journey I’m embarking on as a parent, but the role that we as Visionaries and Entrepreneurs play as we perpetually breathe life into ventures that impact so many more lives than our own.

On Children

Just as I will be a steward to versus an owner of this child, we are the vessels through which our businesses come into the world. They are so much bigger than US. Your vision – your dream – this business you’re creating, even if it’s still in its infancy stage…

It is a result of Life’s longing for itself. And you are here to help fulfill that longing.

YES it is here for your own evolution, expression and fulfillment. And yes it is here to be the outlet through which you’ll turn your Lifestyle Design Plan into a living, breathing reality.

But it is also here for the evolution of every person you’ll serve as you fulfill your duty of offering your gifts through your business.

If you’ll remember that – that this mission of yours is SO much bigger than YOU – then whenever you feel yourself wanting to play small, slack off, or aim low (in an attempt to avoid failure, rejection, looking bad, or getting anything “wrong”), you might just find the clarity and the cajonés to choose otherwise.

Your business IS your baby. Or at least, it does START OUT that way.

But… in order to make the kind of impact you’re capable of making with your business, you have to get it to the point where it can stand on its own two feet – where it’s no longer an expensive “hobby” for you, and something you do haphazardly because it allows you to “get by”, but rather it takes on a life and purpose of its own – complete with solid systems that keep things organized and in flow so you can get more done in less time and serve more people with less effort.

Once you have that kind of momentum, anything is possible.

The work I do, especially inside the Secret Sauce Society, is all about helping people create that momentum in their lives and businesses. It’s about taking steps to become freer, fuller, more authentic and integrated humans. I do this work because my impulse to evolve is relentless… and I want you along for the ride.
